NSPS to Testify on Proposed Change to Davis-Bacon

Curt Sumner, executive director of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) will testify on June 18 before the Committee on Education and the Workforce to express his organization’s opposition to a proposal by the U.S. Department of Labor to include survey technicians under the category of “laborers and mechanics.”

DOL’s Wage and Hour Division proposed the change in an All Agency Memorandum (AAM 212) issued on March 23.

The hearing, entitled “Promoting the Accuracy and Accountability of the Davis-Bacon Act,” is slated for 10 a.m. in room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.
