Schonstedt Instrument Company Launches Giveaway Program to Celebrate 60th Anniversary

Schonstedt Instrument Company, U.S. manufacturer of underground utility and monument locating instruments, celebrates its ‘Diamond’ anniversary with a series of giveaways throughout 2013.

Schonstedt Instrument Company, to mark its 60th year of providing locating equipment to the surveying, utility, and construction industries, will give away a magnetic locator every 60 days throughout 2013.  60 gift certificates, in the amount of $60 each and good for any Schonstedt product or service, will be given to an additional 60 entrants during each 60-day period. The giveaway program will culminate in a Grand Prize drawing at the end of the year.

Founded in 1953 by Erick O. Schonstedt, Schonstedt Instrument Company was initially a subcontractor to the aerospace industry, providing high-grade magnetometers for aerospace and laboratory applications. The firm began making magnetic locators for land surveyors in the 1970s, and the distinctive 'yellow stick' soon became the global standard for survey monument location. In fact, in the survey industry, 'Schonstedt' or 'Schonny' is the de facto term for magnetic locators. Also in the 1970s, Schonstedt began producing utility locators and today the company provides handheld utility locators to water, gas, electrical and telecommunications industries worldwide.

“We’re a proud company with a rich history,” said Bob Ebberson, Director of Business Development, “And we're inviting locating professionals to celebrate with us in 2013.” Adds Schonstedt President Mark Pugh, “We wanted to have a little fun as we mark this milestone, so check our website, and your inbox, for your many chances to win with Schonstedt in 2013!"
