Lochrane has been awarded Section 3A of the Wekiva Parkway, a major highway design project, by FDOT District 5. Lochrane will provide highway engineering design, utility coordination and surveying services, as well as assist with public involvement efforts. Lochrane will be supported by a strong group of subconsultants for structural design, pond design, ITS analysis and design, signalization, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering and landscape architecture.
The project involves the reconstruction of SR 46 from East of Vista View Lane to East of Round Lake Road in Lake County into a 6- lane divided urban roadway. This section will provide a raised median, three travel lanes in each direction, bike lanes, curb and gutter, and sidewalks. The scope also includes adding turn lanes at the signalized intersection of SR 46 and Round Lake Road. Additionally, grade adjustments will be made to Round Lake Road.
This is one section of the larger Wekiva Parkway project (www.wekivaparkway.com
) that will connect to SR 417, completing the beltway around northwest metropolitan Orlando. More information on Section 3A can be found online at www.wekivaparkway.com/project-3a.php
