I would like to know how how many of you actually perform your own field work?

I think this type of question fails to take into account the size of the firm and position held. I am more curious as to how many would feel uncomfortable in a supervisory role where you direct unlicensed field personnel (or surveyor interns). This is typically the norm in medium to large firms, even in some small firms too.

For the record, i do not feel that the PS in charge of a given survey truly needs to physically perform the field work for every situation. Certainly, complex situations / unfamiliar areas will dictate the necessity of the PS to perform field reconnaisance.
