1)      Describe the development of Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) and its impact this has had on site surveying

2)      Discuss the phenomenon known as dilution of position in GPS and multipath error. What can be done to reduce this?

3)      What is an equipotential surface and why is it important in surveying?

4)      Explain the importance of GIS and discuss TWO examples of its application.

5)      Discuss the differences between raster model and vector model.

Dilution of Position involves the distribution of satellites in the orbit as received by ur GPS receiver at a given time.
Multipath involves those obstacle or objects that deflects signals emanating from the GPS satelltes in the orbit before the satellite signals are received by ur GPS receiver.

To reduce both Dilution of precision and multipath error respectively, make GPS observation in areas devoid of high vegetation cover(tall trees mostly) and areas not surrounded by tall buildings.
