I have been in surveying for about 3 years.  I am 8 months away from taking my test to get my license in the state of Tennessee.  I want to get some books and some reader reviews.  If you had $200-$300 to spend on books, what are some you all would suggest?  I know a lot of books are $125  brand new, and you can get them cheaper on amazon...or even better...free if you know someone who has them.  Let me know what books are #1 for a surveyor to read.

Two titles I wouldn't do without:

1. Surveying: Theory and Practice; Anderson & Mikhail

2. Brown's Boundary Control and Legal Principles; Brown, Robillard, Wilson

Another good one is 'Clark on Surveying & Boundaries'; Bouman & Robillard

Those are exactly the two I would suggest as well.  The Anderson & Mikhail book is especially helpful.  I suppose it goes without saying that the 1973 manual is essential also, but seeing as how you are working in Tennessee, I'm not sure how relevant it is in a colonial state.
